If you are following my story on my blog, Facebook page or YouTube channel, then you know by now that doctors did not give me chances of survival during the stroke that I suffered in December 2013 and shortly after, I was released from the hospital. However, I survived. Now, during the latest medical check-ups, they don’t give me chance of recovering my sight. They say that the optical nerve is tissue that does not regenerate. And, as such, my blindness is permanent. As far as they believe, this is it. Conventional medicine can’t help me any longer. The audio test results show that the auditory nerve gives discontinued signals. So, I’m still unable to understand a normal level of conversation.

However, since November 2014, I turned to alternative therapy through reiki. I’m giving great results. At the time being, it is my only hope that I will see again.

Unfortunately, in our country, the funds for people with disabilities are low. They barely cover some medication and living expenses. Because my disability is very severe (I can’t see and hear) I can’t get a job, I can barely take care of myself, I need constant supervision – hence the need for a personal caretaker. My monthly social welfare is around 200 $. They say that if I want to hire a personal caretaker I would have to pay him/her from this measly income, because there isn’t enough money. I was shocked, repulsed and scared at the thought that I might be condemned to depend on this social welfare for the rest of my life.

A few things you should know before you decide to donate:
1. Please, don’t feel like you have to donate, but your help is most welcomed.
2. Please, don’t donate if you don’t have enough for yourselves. I would feel guilty knowing that it will be hard for you.
3. Do not think 5$ would be offensive or not enough; 10,20 or 100 people might think the same as you; everything helps.
